Meandering into Sussex we gaze upon the colours of spring at our first garden visit, a magnificent contemporary garden based on traditional Jekyll principles while employing modern ecological approaches. We enjoy a delicious lunch in the grounds with the owner.

An exquisite, romantic garden greets us next. Masses of pleached trees and creative floral bursts are mixed with sculptural elements making each new glance around the meandering pathways a surprise.

We end the day at our historic hotel replete with an award-winning spa to relax in. Perfect! Day 3 / 21 May / Great Dixter & Sissinghurst Castle GardenExpand

A ramshackle Tudor house sits in the middle of the wrap-around garden at Great Dixter. This is the childhood home of Christopher Lloyd, a man who revolutionised modern gardening. The garden’s cacophony of plants delight and inspire as we enjoy exclusive pre-opening access to the garden, followed by a private tour of the house.

A jewel amongst jewels, Sissinghurst Castle Garden is one of the most visited gardens in England. Parham House jumps into life every spring; a pleasure ground of floral excess behind towering walls. An exclusive tour reveals the enchantment of both the house and garden this morning, unpeeling layers of history in this extraordinary private estate.

Afterwards, stroll the delightful gardens of Leonardslee Lakes, an unforgettable visual treat for garden lovers. Relax in the tranquility where camellias and rhododendrons bloom alongside rare and exotic trees.Day 5 / 23 May / Nymans & Gravetye ManorExpand

Next is Gravetye Manor, considered to be the birthplace of the English cottage garden. Revel in a private tour of this glorious garden then enjoy an exquisite lunch in the Michelin-starred restaurant.
