Summer Delights of Yorkshire Gardens
26 June - 3 July 2022
The lovely Yorkshire Dales boasts ruined abbeys and stately mansions home to some of the most beautiful Yorkshire gardens. Yorkshire is perhaps Violet and Tea's favourite garden region in all of England - and that is saying a lot! Yorkshire's rugged landscapes and national parks have been made famous throughout literature. It's home to many of the UK's most innovative and impressive gardens, with plenty of beautiful spots to admire. It's a stunning part of the country that can't be missed.
Our eight-day tour is made up of contrasting historic estates and contemporary masterpieces with intimate family gardens. We'll visit the best gardens in Yorkshire, marvelling in the ambitions of their creators.
The Best Gardens to Visit in Yorkshire
On our tour, we will be visiting some of the most beautiful Yorkshire gardens. We'll see the magnificent Castle Howard, one of England's finest stately homes. Since the 1960s, the beautiful grounds and estate have made Castle Howard a famous filming location for many productions, including Netflix original series, Bridgerton!
We'll also be embracing the beauty of Newby Hall and garden on a private tour of the stunning Queen Anne house and extensive grounds. With fifteen different award-winning gardens to explore, from their National Cornus Collection to their rose and water gardens, it's a marvel to behold for the green-fingered.
In the heart of Wharfedale is the scenic garden of Parcevall Hall, home to dramatic terraces with views over the stunning Yorkshire Dales. If that doesn't excite you enough, we'll also be visiting the acclaimed contemporary ground-breaking garden by Piet Oudolf at Scampston Hall.
One cannot enjoy the best gardens to visit in Yorkshire unless one has been fed and rested. That's why we have arranged seven nights of five-star accommodation in handpicked hotels for this tour, along with an indulgently traditional afternoon tea at Luton Hoo, nestled within a historic Lancelot 'Capability' Brown landscape.
